Don’t Times Square Is
For the past five months, our community has stood united at City Hall, challenging the installation of massive LED billboards that threaten the Edgewater skies. This campaign began with the controversial installation of a giant billboard at the PAMM, facilitated by politicians prioritizing personal gain over public interest. Remember, this is just the beginning, with more billboards planned to follow.
Join The Fight
- Attend the Commission Meeting: Join us this Thursday, May 23rd, at 9:30 AM at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Dr, Miami, FL 33133. Your presence will make a difference as we speak out against this issue.
- Spead the Word: Share this email and the flier attached to your friends, family and neighbors. Every person counts on this matter.
Contact Commissioner Miguel Angel Gabela (the deciding vote): Voice your concerns directly by calling (305) 250-5430 or emailing district1office@miamigov.com
This is our last opportunity to convince our government officials to act in the best interest of our community and make a stand on the right side of history. Your support is crucial.

Important Volunteer Information:
Download the Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app to participate in the Citizen Science activity to log, tally and measure the impact of your cleanup. It is easier and more fun than using paper data cards!
Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. This is a park site but has mixed terrain (mangroves, rocky seawall), and you should wear closed toed shoes, and dress for being outdoors in the heat and sun!
Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen are recommended.
If you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, bring them. We will be providing gloves but cannot guarantee they will be in your size.
Please bring water in a reusable container. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles.
Some volunteers like to use a bucket during a cleanup. Ask your local Chinese, Burger or Bakery/Donut shop if they get food service items in 5-gallon buckets that they would like to donate for use during your cleanup!
